If you've been unfortunately affected with acne scarring, you'll be looking for all kinds of things that can help you with that. You may have heard that lemon juice for acne scars is an ideal natural solution for your scarring, and many people recommend it. Let's have a look at whether lemon juice for acne scars is a good thing… or not.
Lemon juice for acne scars is often recommended because it is cheap, easy to find and use and is very natural. Lemon juice is one of the most potent natural juices around, it's loaded with Vitamin C is an excellent natural bleach. Lemon juice is highly acidic and alters the structure of your skin… in a good way!
Many people have found success with lemon juice for acne scars and since it's so cheap and easy to apply, there's no reason why you shouldn't give it a go. Squeeze the juice from a few lemons and apply to your face. Twice a day is a good amount to start with, and you can cut it down to once a day when you've got success.
There are several things to note when using lemon juice for acne scars. First of all, you might smell a little like lemon. That's not a bad thing, I actually use natural lemon deodorant made by a company called Weleda (although that's a different story). The second (and pay attention here) is that the sun may burn your skin more then normal. This is an unfortunate side effect, just be aware that when you're out and about in the sun so make sure that you carry sun screen around with you.
Lemon juice is also fairly harsh. It has a ph value (acidity) of 2 whereas the normal human skin ph is that of around 4 to 4.5. Therefore when you apply the lemon juice, it might sting a bit. Don't worry! It doesn't feel as good as some of those other (decidedly un-natural) products that you can buy for a million billion dollars (at least compared to lemons).
Does lemon juice for acne scars work? You be the judge. Try it for a week and see what happens. If you're looking a real scar solution then take a look at my site. You'll be very surprised at what can be achieved with decidedly unconventional natural products on the marketplace.
